our partner is a premium, multi-purpose fitness facility in the heart of new york city, serving over 7,000 dedicated members. the state-of-the-art facility offers comprehensive fitness services, personal training, group classes, and wellness programs designed to help members achieve their health and fitness goals.
position overview:
we're seeking an experienced general manager to lead the flagship facility's operations, staff, and member experience initiatives. the ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record in premium fitness facility management and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
key responsibilities:
• oversee complete facility operations including staffing, maintenance, budget management, and program development for a large-scale fitness center serving 7,000+ members
• lead and develop a team of 100+ employees including personal trainers, group fitness instructors, front desk staff, and support personnel
• drive membership growth, retention, and revenue through strategic planning, marketing initiatives, and exceptional service delivery
• manage facility p&l, including budget planning, expense control, and revenue optimisation across all service lines
• ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining the premium standards expected by our high-end clientele
requirements:
• 5+ years of management experience in a premium fitness facility or luxury hospitality setting
• proven track record of p&l management and revenue growth
• strong leadership abilities with experience managing large teams
• bachelor's degree in business, sports management, or related field
• must currently reside in new york city or surrounding areas and be eligible to work in the usa
• available to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends

• strong financial acumen and business development skills
• excellence in member relations and conflict resolution
• knowledge of current fitness industry trends and best practices
